In a series of interviews, exporter.bg - Bulgaria's export site, will present the activities of the Confederation of International Trading Houses Associations (CITHA) and its members - an organization founded as far back as 1956.
Mr. Director General, would you introduce your association?
- The Federation of the German Export Trade (Bundesverband des Deutschen Exporthandels e.V.) is one of the head Organisations of German export business. Its members are the international trading companies in Germany with their special interests in the export sector. The companies are organised in seven regional and one product professional association covering about 850 companies throughout Germany.
What is your impression of the investment and business environment in Bulgaria? Would companies from your association invest in our country?
- Bulgaria is an attractive market within the EU single market and provides correspondingly less risks for international supply chains. Competitive wages, privileges for the IT, automotive and research and development (R&D) sectors are highly attractive for investors. In addition, the European Union provides lavish subsidies.
The demand for logistics centres is fuelled in particular by companies from the pharmaceutical industry as well as wholesalers and retailers. The demand for warehouses on the real estate market is correspondingly high.
Which Bulgarian goods would be well received in Western markets, in particular in the country you represent?
- In particular, chemical raw materials, electrical engineering or automotive parts are of great importance for exports from Bulgaria to Germany. In addition, the IT sector is also playing an increasingly important role.
