Ognyanovo K AD -  Tradition and Innovation

The history of the company began in 1925, when Pesterliev Brothers started quick lime production near the river Maritza in Ognyanovo. Today “Ognyanovo K” AD, with a capacity of 700 tpd is the biggest lime producer in Bulgaria.

The product mix of the Company consists of the following:

Quick lime (CaO) – slow, medium and high reactivity, in pebbles, crushed and grinded: The Company produces quick lime (QL) with screen size between 0-110 mm, crushed quick lime with 0-15 mm and grinded quick lime 0- 90 µm.

Hydrated lime (Ca(OH)2) – bulk and bagged: The bagged hydrated lime with its reliable and modern packing is a cushion against the construction market related seasonality of demand of QL and bulk hydrated lime (HL-Bu).

Limestone (CaCO3): Crushed aggregates for road construction and concrete are produced according to EN 13242; 13043; 12620 with typical sizes: 0-4, 4-11.2, 11,2-22.4, 16-32, 0-75 mm or other as per request.

Lime (QL and HL) produced by the Company complies with European Norms (BDS EN 459-1,2,3).

The quality of limestone screened aggregates also complies with EN standards (BDS EN 13043 and BDS EN 12620). Each shipment has a quality certificate issued by the producer as well as a Certificate of Origin.

The Company has been certified by TUV Rheinland under EN ISO 9001:2008, БДС EN ISO 14001:2005 and BS OHSAS 18001:2007.

Our brand is well known in the markets of Greece, Macedonia, Kosovo, Serbia and Romania.

The Company’s installed capacity is slightly over 224,000 tons of QL and near 3 million tons of crushed limestone per annum.

The manufacturing facilities and support utilities of the Company are located on two production sites:

Puklina is a new plant built in the Puklina region of the city of Slivnitsa.

Ognyanovo is situated near to the city of Pazardjik.

The Company promotes a high level of compliance with environmental standards. The basic equipment preventing environmental pollution was installed when Puklina was constructed.

Periodic reconstruction and modernisation has been performed in order to keep the equipment in both Puklina and Ognyanovo in good condition.
